Extended bulk optimization: Intelligently integrate unplanned requirements into existing tours

The function is intended to enable unplanned trip requests (FAs) to be integrated into existing tours in a targeted manner - without always creating new tours.

This should make batch planning more flexible and better reflect real-world scheduling processes, such as filling free spaces or combining parallel tours.

Goals for our customers

  • It should be possible to insert unplanned FAs into existing tours in order to make optimum use of free capacity.

  • It should be possible to leave the order of existing stops unchanged.

  • Customers should also be able to check whether several parallel tours can be sensibly combined into one large tour.

  • The optimization should remain stable and traceable.

Planned range of functions

  1. Insert unplanned FAs into existing tours

    • Sequence may change.

    • Sequence must remain the same, but FAs may be placed in between.

    • Sequence must remain completely fixed.

  2. Combine existing tours

    • Sequence may change.

    • Sequence must be retained.

These variants should be controllable via a new selection dialog in batch planning.

Further planned improvements

  • The name of the new tour should be automatically derived from the original tours and pre-filled.

  • When combining several tours, the names should be merged intelligently.

This enhancement is intended to give dispatchers more control over how existing tours are reused or combined - and thus make batch planning much more practical.
